Meet Cheryl

Hi there! I’m Cheryl Askey, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor. I am so happy you are here and exploring the possibility of incorporating counseling into your life or the life of a loved one. I have worked in the mental health field for over a decade and in a variety of settings, including substance abuse treatment programs, juvenile correctional facilities, and community mental health agencies.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New College of Florida, I graduated with my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University. I am a born and raised Floridian who loves to read, listen to live music, and totally crush the competition at trivia nights. Spending time with my two kitties and crocheting center me at the end of a long day.

I believe in working hand-in-hand with my clients, focusing on building a strong therapeutic relationship and a sense of trust. I accomplish this by meeting each client where they are in their healing journey and celebrating their capacity for growth. Music, laughter, movement, and play are frequently integrated in sessions. Whether we are processing childhood trauma, building social skills, or exploring thought patterns, my goal is to support you or your loved one in achieving wellness. Like the mighty oak growing from the humble acorn, I believe everyone possesses all they need to achieve fulfillment.
