Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

60 minute session - $175

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or deeply upsetting experiences. It works by having the person briefly focus on a troubling memory while following back-and-forth movements, like watching a finger move side to side. This process helps the brain reprocess the memory in a healthier way, so it feels less distressing over time. EMDR is often used to treat PTSD, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties. Many people find relief faster than with traditional talk therapy.

Meet Cheryl

Hi there! I’m Cheryl Askey, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor. I am so happy you are here and exploring the possibility of incorporating counseling into your life or the life of a loved one. I have worked in the mental health field for over a decade and in a variety of settings, including substance abuse treatment programs, juvenile correctional facilities, and community mental health. .

I graduated with my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University in 2017. I am a born and raised Floridian who loves to read, listen to live music, and totally crush the competition at trivia nights. Spending time with my two kitties and crocheting center me at the end of a long day.

As a clinician, I love meeting with my clients in authenticity and bearing witness to the transformative power of human compassion and connection. Like the mighty oak growing from the humble acorn, I believe everyone possesses all they need to achieve fulfillment. My role is to help my clients tend to their burgeoning development. It is an honor and a privilege to know you are considering my practice as a source of support and skill development, and I truly look forward to working with you.
